Travel in Cheongju
This is my first post in English. I wrote this to share with you if you wanna travel to Cheongju.
I'm exchange student at Chungbuk National University for a semester (Spring Semester 2016) and I'm originally from University of Malaya, Malaysia. As a foreigner, I'm face such of hard times to find on how to go to these attraction places. I'm just keep Google-ing the information~
These are some attraction places in Cheongju.
SUAMGOL
Suamgol is well known for its art painting and filming sites for K Drama such as 'Cain and Abel', ' Kim Tak Gu the Master Baker' and 'Glorious Jaein'. You can click here for my pictures and videos at Suamgol. (that post is in Malay Language but you can see the photos...and videos also)
HOW TO GET TO SUAMGOL?
Navigation Address:
81-12, Su-Dong, Sangdang-gu, Cheongju-si, Chungcheongbuk-do, South Korea.
By Bus:
Take a city bus no. 105 at Cheongju Express Bus Terminal and take off at Bangadari bus stop, after City Hall. You also can take off at Uam Elemetary School bus stop. Just follow the alley next to Uam Elemetary School and walk on foot besides the gates for 5 minutes. Don't forget to keep looking for the direction because if you are on the right way, Suamgol is just easily to find.
SANGDANGSANSEONG FORTRESS
Sangdangsanseong Fortress is a perfect place if you want to escape from city life because you will be surround by nature and if you like to hike, you can hike and walk along the fortress. Urghhh... I'm not into those kind of things~ But, the nature and panorama really got into me. This is one of my travel wishlist because of its historical background.
HOW TO GET TO SANGDANGSANSEONG FORTRESS?
By Car:
Drive along the Highway Gyeongbu (Jungbu Highway) and exit at the Cheongju IC (West Cheongju IC). Once you are in Cheongju,take National Road 36 (City Road 160) to the Uam Mountain Circular Road and the South Gate of Sangdangsanseong.
On site parking is free of charge.
By Bus:
Take city bus route number 361-2 and 362-1 to Sangdangsanseong at Cheongju Express Bus Terminal. Get off at Sangdang Mountain Fortress South Gates bus stop. It will takes about 25 minutes from the bus terminal to the fortress.
